NSCDC Launches Manhunt for Killers of Osun Night Guard
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Osun State Command has initiated an investigation into the murder of a night guard at a shopping complex on Station Road, Ikirun, Osun State. The victim, identified only as Ibariba, was found dead on Monday morning.
The exact time of the killing remains unclear, but local sources reported that Ibariba was discovered in a pool of blood early on Monday. Residents were reluctant to speak on record due to concerns about being implicated in the crime.
A local shop owner, who requested anonymity, described the scene: “We discovered the body this morning. We were told that the guard was an Ibariba man, but we don’t know his full name. It appeared he had been brutally attacked. We promptly notified both the police and the NSCDC.”
NSCDC spokesperson Kehinde Adeleke confirmed that officers responded to the scene. “On Monday, we received a report about the murder of a middle-aged man identified as Ibariba. He was a night guard at a shopping complex on Station Road. His body has been removed and taken to the morgue by the Ikinrun Police Divisional Headquarters,” Adeleke stated.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances of the death and identify those responsible for the crime.
