Oba Akiolu Urges Nigerians to Support President Tinubu with Patience

Oba Akiolu

The Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, has called on Nigerians to exercise patience and support for the administration of President Bola Tinubu. He made this appeal during a visit by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to his Iga Idugaran palace in Lagos.

In a statement released on Tuesday by her spokesperson, Busola Kukoyi, Oba Akiolu emphasized that President Tinubu has the nation’s best interests at heart and is deeply connected to grassroots concerns. “All I am saying and appealing is that we should pray for Nigeria and the president. We should be patient. Everything good needs prayers,” the statement quoted the monarch as saying.

Oba Akiolu also advised the youth to strengthen their relationship with God, acknowledging that many Nigerian youth are diligent and hardworking. “Though some youth are incurably lazy and are always waiting to be spoon-fed, teach them not to always wait for fish but learn how to fish themselves,” he remarked.

The statement also highlighted that the First Lady’s visit provided an opportunity for the monarch to renew his call for a special status for Lagos State, recognizing its significance as the former Federal Capital of Nigeria.
