Obi knocks FG over seizure of presidential jets
Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has criticized the Nigerian government over the international seizure of three jets belonging to the Presidential fleet . He described the incident as an international embarrassment and condemned the federal government’s handling of the situation . The jets were seized by a French court due to a contract dispute between the Ogun State Government and a Chinese company . Obi argued that the incident underscores multiple dimensions of leadership failure in Nigeria and reflects a deep insensitivity to the economic hardships faced by the Nigerian people . He also questioned the lack of transparency surrounding the purchase and management of the jets .
