A major incident unfolded at Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 1 (Zulu Hall) early Wednesday, June 11, 2025, involving former Edo State Governor and current senator, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

According to multiple eyewitnesses and a statement from Air Peace, Senator Oshiomhole arrived at the terminal at approximately 6:10 AM for a flight scheduled to depart Lagos for Abuja at 6:30 AM. By that time, the airline had already concluded boarding procedures in line with standard protocol, and the flight took off on time.

Frustrated by the missed flight, the senator allegedly responded with aggression—reportedly locking the terminal gate, obstructing access for other travelers, and physically confronting airline personnel. The disruption halted operations at the terminal, stranding several passengers and prompting the airline to reroute its services to another terminal to maintain schedule integrity.

Air Peace expressed strong disapproval of the senator’s conduct, describing it as violent and unacceptable. In an official statement, the airline emphasized its policy of zero tolerance for abuse or aggression directed at its staff or passengers, regardless of the status of the individual involved.

“We regret the disturbance caused to our valued customers and reaffirm our commitment to safety, professionalism, and on-time service. No individual, no matter how prominent, is exempt from the rules that govern civil aviation,” the airline said.

This incident has sparked public backlash, with many Nigerians condemning what they see as a clear abuse of privilege and disregard for procedures that all passengers are expected to follow. Critics argue it highlights a troubling pattern of entitlement among some public figures.

Air Peace has reiterated its appeal for calm and cooperation at all times, noting that airport operations follow strict schedules and safety guidelines that must be respected by all travelers.

SIGNED,

Air Peace Management
