OSUN 2026: AMBO PLEDGES MASSIVE DEVELOPMENT FOR ILE-IFE, EARNS OONI’S ROYAL BLESSINGS AT APC CAMPAIGN FLAG-OFF

The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Osun state, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) has declared that his administration would turnaround the socioeconomic fortunes of the state when elected Osun governor.

Oyebamiji reaffirmed that Osun would be given a facelift of development in all spheres of the economy as envisaged by the founding fathers, saying “Ile-Ife and other cities and towns would experience astronomical transformation when elected Governor.”

He expressed confidence in coming victorious in the August 15th 2026 gubernatorial election, explaining that “this is evidenced in the organic and chemical crowd of our party loyalists that are here today.”

The foremost Yoruba traditional ruler, Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi extolled Oyebamiji’s innate qualities of discipline, faithfulness, humility, integrity and Omoluabi ethos exemplified in private and public sectors.

This is just as the APC governorship campaign council flagged-off campaign in Ile-Ife.

Receiving Oyebamiji and his campaign entourage in his palace, Ooni of Ife, Oba Ogunwusi lauded Oyebamiji’s impeccable track-records, nothing “he is Omoluabi par excellence.

“Asiwaju Oyebamiji is Omoluabi to the core. He is a pride and blessing to Osun. I commend him and his antecedents. I pray God Almighty to answer all his prayers and grant all his heart desires”, the monarch prayed.

Speaking at the palace of Ooni and venue of the campaign, Oyebamiji pledged to restore the lost glory of the state across sectors.

According to him, Ile-Ife is the cradle of Yoruba race and as such it will be given adequate attention while our town and cities would wear a facelift of development and genuine transformation.

“I am happy to be warmly received by our father, the foremost traditional ruler, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife. I want to sincerely appreciate our people in the entire Ife land for their unflinching support. We were here last time to receive royal blessings when we were about commencing our political activities. Today, we are here to formally receive blessings from our father as we commence our campaign across the state.

“Let me reassure our people that my contesting is motivated by genuine intention to turnaround the fortunes of the state. We shall prioritize critical sectors. Give adequate attention to all that matters. We have identified decadence in the critical sectors and we are prepared to fix them as soon as we take over the mantle of leadership of the state.

“Be it infrastructure, security, education, agriculture, health, commerce and industry, power and energy, water and mineral resources, youth and sports. Women and children as well empowerment and public engagement would be given desired attention when elected Governor.

“We have identified many intra city roads in Ile-Ife and other places, such as Enuwa to Fajuyi junction, Aderemi to Ondo road, Enuwa to Sabo among others that would receive immediate attention as soon as we get to government. Our schools would receive massive revitalization so also our hospitals. Ditto security, agriculture and lot more.

“The welfare and general well-being of our people particularly Osun workers would be prioritised as we are irrevocably committed to deliver on our promises and run a government of the people, by the people and for the people”, Oyebamiji added.

He disclosed that efforts are in top gear to unveil technical work done by the steering committee on Osun independent power plant that would be activated for public benefit when elected Governor.

“We have done a lot in this regard. We are working assiduously to maximize the opportunity that we have to generate reasonable and sufficient electricity supply for our people and this will be executed as soon as I am elected Governor.

” As at today, many sectors are in coma. Agriculture sector particularly is ailing; but we will ensure that we revamp it. We will introduce hybrid seedlings that would be profitable to farmers. Our farmers deserve better life. We will prepare readymade market for the farm produce as such that our state would be sufficient in food production and exportation capacity”, Oyebamiji added.

He praised Ooni of Ife for his fatherly role, promising not to disappoint the people of the state.

In their separate remarks, APC State Chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, Director General, Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council, Hon. Oluwole Oke, National Commissioner, Federal Civil Service, Dr Festus Oyebade Olowogboyega among other leaders, urged the electorate to come out in large numbers to vote massively for the Oyebamiji.

The campaign trail of Oyebamiji was warmly received with pomp and pageantry both at the palace and venue of the campaign.
