Osun APC Leader Calls on FG to Release LG Allocations to Reinstated Chairmen

Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged the Federal Government to begin disbursing monthly allocations to the council chairmen reinstated by the court in Osun State.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Osogbo, Oyintiloye called for the release of funds to the APC-elected local government chairmen who had been dismissed in 2022 but were recently reinstated by the Court of Appeal.
He stressed that the state government would be held accountable for the funds spent on the recent local government elections, which he described as a waste of public resources.
“I urge the Federal Government to start releasing the monthly allocations to the reinstated APC chairmen this month. These chairmen have been unable to serve since their removal in 2022, but now that the court has reinstated them, it’s time for them to begin their work,” Oyintiloye said.
“This is an opportunity for the grassroots to finally feel the impact of government, which has been absent since 2022,” he added.
The former lawmaker also praised the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for his effective handling of security matters in Osun State, commending his efforts in maintaining peace and addressing security challenges professionally.
He expressed support for the reinstated chairmen, noting their determination to resume their duties despite alleged pressure from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Oyintiloye further encouraged local government staff to return to work, assuring them of adequate security measures to ensure their safety.
“The chairmen’s resumption will allow them to focus on delivering the long-awaited benefits of democracy to the people at the grassroots level,” he concluded.
