Peter Okoye Addresses EFCC Allegations: Clarifies Role and Disputes Paul Okoye’s Claims
August 12, 2024

In a detailed statement, Peter Okoye, one half of the renowned music duo P-SQUARE, has addressed recent allegations involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and his brother, Paul Okoye. Peter Okoye vehemently denies accusations that he filed a petition against Paul or involved him in the ongoing investigation.
Peter Okoye emphasized that he never submitted any petition against his twin brother Paul, nor did he use the EFCC to target him. He challenges anyone to present evidence of such a petition. The statement comes in response to Paul’s claims that Peter’s actions led to EFCC scrutiny, which Paul suggested resulted in his temporary detainment.
Peter clarified that the real issue began when he discovered a suspicious company, Northside Music, with ties to his brother Jude Okoye and his wife, Ifeoma Okoye. Peter found this company alarming as it shared a similar name with their legitimate business, Northside Entertainment, and had been registered at the home of Ifeoma Okoye. Despite several attempts to discuss the matter with Paul, he claimed Paul denied any knowledge of the company or its dealings.
Peter disclosed that his legal team was instructed to focus solely on Jude and Ifeoma Okoye in their petition to the EFCC, not involving Paul. He expressed disbelief at Paul’s claims, stating that the true nature of the case involved Jude’s diversion of P-SQUARE’s royalties into Northside Music, a significant betrayal that had ongoing financial implications.
The statement further reveals that following Jude’s confession to the EFCC, his bank accounts were frozen, and he admitted to diverting funds intended for P-SQUARE. He claimed that payments made to Paul were related to a debt from a past property sale rather than illicit activities.
Peter assured that once the EFCC concludes its investigation and delivers its final report, he will make all relevant documents, including the petition and EFCC findings, publicly available. This will clarify any remaining confusion and provide transparency regarding the ongoing case.
Peter Okoye concluded his statement by urging patience and understanding from fans, promising to release comprehensive details once the official report is finalized.
