Police arraign 2 suspects for stealing from accident victims
FCGs reports that two suspects have been arraigned by Lagos Police for allegedly stealing from accident victims.
Before a Magistrates’ Court sitting in Badagry, Lagos State, two suspects have been arraigned for allegedly stealing N34,350 from dead victims of an accident along Lagos-Badagry expressway.
FCGs gathered that the suspects identified as Babatunde Olatunji, 37; and Tunde Afolabi, 41, were arraigned on Thursday, July 27, were accused of committing the offence on July 9, at about 11 a.m, at the Muhammadu Buhari Bus Stop, on the Lagos-Badagry expressway, Age-Mowo, Lagos.
The Prosecution Counsel, Insp Ayodele Adeosun said the defendants were apprehended by the people at the scene of the accident and handed over to the police for prosecution.
The suspects who pleaded not guilty to the offence, were granted bail of N200,000 by Magistrate T. A. Popoola, with two sureties in like sum.
Popoola ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed. He adjourned the case until August 21, for mention.
