Police Arrest Three in Gombe for Selling Adulterated Okro Powder

Three traders in Gombe State have been apprehended by the police for allegedly selling dried okro powder mixed with wood dust. The arrest followed a tip-off from a vigilant resident who reported the unlawful activities to the authorities.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Buhari Abdullahi, briefed journalists about the incident after parading the suspects. According to Abdullahi, the report was received on July 9 at around 5:00 p.m., indicating that the suspects were mixing dried okro with wood dust to sell to unsuspecting consumers.
The suspects, who hail from Dadin Kowa and Dumbu villages in Yamaltu-Deba Local Government Area, were swiftly apprehended by police detectives from the Dadin Kowa Area Command. The adulterated okro powder has been sent to the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) for examination and analysis.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
Additionally, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the police also paraded other suspects involved in various crimes, including the adulteration of fertilizer, homosexuality, and vandalism of electric wires.
