Press Release: Rumors of Adeleke’s Defection to APC Are Completely False – Osun APC

HE Ademola Adeleke
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is urging party members, supporters, and the general public to disregard misleading claims circulating from the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) suggesting that the governor has joined the APC.
We want to clearly and firmly state that there is no truth whatsoever to the rumors of Governor Adeleke’s defection. This claim, being promoted by his aides and allies, has no basis in reality and should be dismissed outright.
At no point has there been any form of pressure from the Presidency compelling Governor Adeleke to switch allegiance to our party. These allegations are nothing more than political fiction designed to create confusion and manipulate public perception.
Furthermore, the idea that Governor Adeleke has officially joined our ranks is both constitutionally inaccurate and logistically impossible. There are formal procedures and protocols within our party structure that must be followed for any such move — none of which have been initiated.
It’s evident that some of the governor’s supporters are excited over this baseless speculation, but we emphasize that these claims remain in the realm of fantasy.
Let it be known: a sitting governor cannot secretly defect to our party without the awareness and endorsement of key figures such as our National Chairman, Mr. Ali Dalori; party elder statesman Chief Bisi Akande; our state leader and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola; Osun APC Chairman Sooko Tajudeen Lawal; and other party stakeholders.
What’s most ironic is that the same individuals who have continuously criticized our party now seem eager to associate with it, as if seeking validation or relevance through imagined alliances.
Equally troubling are the false narratives being pushed online and in the media that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is actively courting Governor Adeleke. These tales are completely fabricated and serve only to flatter the governor and mislead the public.
For the record, and to set things straight once again: Governor Adeleke has not defected to the APC. Our party remains united, focused, and unshaken.
Signed:
Mogaji Kola Olabisi
