Reasons Mompha Hits Back at EFCC, Calling Them “Jobless and Useless”; See details

Ismaila Mustapha, popularly known as Mompha, has issued a sharp response to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after they demanded proof for his allegations of corruption against them. This follows the EFCC’s claim of discovering N35 billion in his bank accounts.

Mompha, who is currently facing money laundering charges brought by the EFCC, took to Instagram to criticize the agency. He posted, “The most useless and corrupt Nigeria government agency @officialefcc.”

In response, Dele Oyewale, Head of Media & Publicity for the EFCC, challenged Mompha to substantiate his corruption claims.

Mompha fired back on Instagram, stating that the EFCC’s response to his post indicates how “useless and jobless” the agency is. He wrote, “My attention has once again been drawn to the social media tantrum of the EFCC demanding that I prove corruption allegations against them. The fact that the commission, particularly their chairman, could stoop so low to respond to my post shows clearly how useless and jobless the EFCC is, and how they waste taxpayers’ money on social media banter.”

He further criticized the EFCC for allegedly using armed men to prevent citizens from protesting against the agency’s corruption. Mompha claimed this action infringed on citizens’ rights and disrupted lawful activities in Lagos and Abuja on July 5, 2024.

Mompha also accused the EFCC of conducting illegal raids and mistreating innocent citizens, citing recent incidents in Ondo State and Lagos.

Regarding his case, Mompha questioned the legitimacy of the EFCC’s evidence against him, asking for the identity of the person he allegedly laundered money for. He accused the agency of presenting unverified claims in court to gain social media attention.

Mompha concluded his post by asserting that the EFCC is desperate and predicted they would respond to his latest remarks, to which he promised to provide more proof.
