Sam Amadi Shares Insights from Justice Binta Nyako on Nnamdi Kanu’s Charges

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu
Sam Amadi, director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, remarked on Tuesday that the charges against Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), lack legal substance.
His comments followed Justice Binta Nyako’s announcement that she would withdraw from Kanu’s trial. Amadi recalled a conversation from two years ago in which Justice Nyako expressed doubts about the prosecution’s ability to substantiate the charges against Kanu.
“The charges against Nnamdi Kanu don’t hold much legal weight and are, in my view, hard to prove,” he stated. “Justice Binta conveyed similar sentiments to me two years ago, so I’m not surprised by her decision to step back. This is a political trial masked as a legal proceeding. It should be brought to an end,” he posted on X.
As reported by DAILY POST, Kanu has expressed a loss of faith in the judicial process and has called for the presiding judge to recuse herself from his case.
