Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has commissioned a thorough investigation into the death of businessman Andrew Ochekwo, following his alleged connection to the disappearance of two women, Celine Ndudim and Afiba Tandoh, in Aba, Abia State.

According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, on Monday, Egbetokun has tasked the monitoring unit with unraveling the details of the case within two weeks.

The statement highlighted, “The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has directed a high-powered and thorough investigation into the suspected murder of Andrew Ochekwo. This directive follows various allegations and counterarguments concerning the case, which involves the disappearance of Celine Ndudim and Afiba Tandoh after visiting Andrew in Aba, Abia State.”

Given the public interest and the seriousness of the allegations, the IGP has ordered a detailed examination of the roles played by the initial investigation team in Abia State and the Force Intelligence Department Intelligence Response Team. The monitoring unit is expected to deliver a comprehensive report within the two-week deadline.

Egbetokun assured the public that the investigation will be conducted with the highest level of professionalism and integrity. He urged everyone to remain calm and refrain from interfering with the investigative process. Individuals and groups with pertinent information are encouraged to come forward, with assurances that all information will be handled confidentially. Information can be submitted via email at pressforabuja@police.gov.ng or through the Nigeria Police Force’s social media channels.

“The Nigeria Police Force values the public’s cooperation and support,” Adejobi added. “We will provide timely updates as the investigation progresses.”
