See How 19 Wedding Guests Were Killed in Road Accident in Plateau

A tragic road accident in the Kwana Maciji area of Pankshin Local Government Area, Plateau State, has claimed the lives of 19 wedding guests, with 11 others left injured.

John Dasar, Chairman of the Pankshin Local Government Area Emergency Management Committee, confirmed the devastating incident.

The victims, who had traveled from Kano State to attend a wedding in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, were returning home when the crash occurred. According to Dasar, the accident took place on Saturday as the guests were en route via the Gindiri-Bauchi route, a shortcut they had chosen for their journey.

While some passengers, including the driver, survived, 19 people were tragically killed. As they were being assisted out of the damaged vehicle, it suddenly caught fire, trapping and burning the victims who had not yet been evacuated.

The survivors were quickly transported to the Pankshin General Hospital for treatment.
