See How Man Assaults Wife with Pestle in Asaba

In 2009, my sister Annabel Uzu married Christopher Onyemali, a lawyer in Asaba. Just a month into their marriage, he began physically abusing her. The violence escalated over the years, but each incident was handled privately due to our conservative upbringing.

Today, Annabel made a video call on our family’s WhatsApp group. She was bleeding heavily and in tears; her husband had struck her on the head with a pestle in front of their daughter, one of their five children.

I am beyond enraged. My siblings and I are currently living abroad, and our elderly parents are unable to manage this situation. We urgently need help from Nigerian youths to bring this man to justice.

If anyone has contacts within the Ministry of Women Affairs or the Nigerian Police, please reach out and assist us.
