See Reasons Abacha’s Family Drags Tinubu, Wike To Appeal Court

The family of the late General Sani Abacha, former military Head of State, has filed an 11-point appeal against President Bola Tinubu and Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike. This action comes in response to the revocation of their property located in the Maitama district of Abuja.

Represented by Hajia Maryam Abacha, the widow, and Mohammed Abacha, the eldest son, the family seeks to reclaim the property through an appeal filed with the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal. They argue that the Certificate of Occupancy for the property, identified as FCT/ABUKN 2478 and covering plot 3119, was unlawfully revoked on June 25, 1993, and transferred to Salamed Ventures Limited.

The appeal also names the Federal Capital Territory Development Authority (FCDA) as a respondent. The Abacha family’s legal team, led by Dr. R. O. Atabo, SAN, requests that the appellate court overturn the July 19 Federal High Court decision that stripped them of ownership.
