See the Numbers of People Dead, 1,000 Displaced as Flooding Hits Kaduna Communities

Torrential rains have caused severe flooding in Kaduna, resulting in the deaths of two minors and displacing over 1,000 residents. The flood struck Kafanchan and several other areas in Jema’a Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State.
Mrs. Christy Usman, Vice Chairman of Jema’a LGA, reported that the affected areas include Kafanchan Municipal, Jagindi, Atuku, Aso, and Bade wards. The flooding also devastated farmlands, destroying crops valued at millions of naira.
Despite the significant economic and personal impact on the community, Usman expressed relief that Governor Senator Uba Sani has taken action. A committee led by Chief of Staff Malam Sani Liman Kila has been dispatched to assess the damage. Usman remarked, “We are pleased with the governor’s prompt response. We anticipate that this visit will lead to compensation and relief for the flood victims.”
