Road Accident
On Monday night at approximately 9:33 PM, a tragic accident occurred near the Ogere area of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, resulting in the deaths of seven people and injuries to eleven others.

The crash involved a Mazda bus, with the registration number MNY894, and an unregistered truck. The accident happened when the Mazda bus, reportedly speeding excessively, lost control and collided with the truck from behind.
Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), shared this information in a statement released on Tuesday. According to Okpe, the injured individuals were transported to PATMAG Hospital in Ogere for medical treatment, while the deceased were taken to the FOS morgue in Ipara.
The statement detailed that the crash involved 18 people, including 15 adult males and 3 adult females. Out of these, 11 individuals (9 males and 2 females) were injured, and 7 (5 males and 2 females) lost their lives.
Okpe attributed the cause of the accident to excessive speed on the part of the Mazda bus driver, who rear-ended the moving truck.
Anthony Uga, the Ogun FRSC Sector Commander, expressed condolences to the victims’ families and emphasized the importance of adhering to speed limits, particularly at night and during rainy conditions when visibility is poor. Uga advised passengers to remain vigilant and speak up when drivers are violating traffic laws.
