In Sokoto State, gunmen have killed a policeman and a vigilante during a patrol. The attack occurred around 3 a.m. on Monday at Kwanan Milgoma along the Sokoto-Bodinga road.
Though the Sokoto Police Command spokesperson was unavailable for comment, a senior police official, speaking anonymously, confirmed the incident. The attackers arrived in a white Hilux and ambushed the checkpoint, opening fire and killing both the policeman and vigilante. They also stole two AK-47 rifles from the scene.
The victims’ bodies were taken to the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital’s mortuary.
