See What Police Did as officer’s son drowns in Ogun River
Police Search Underway for Officer’s Son Who Drowned in Ogun River
The Ogun State Police Command has launched a search operation for the body of Francis Danjuma, a 32-year-old son of a police officer, who reportedly drowned in the Ogun River.
Francis Danjuma, a resident of Isheri Olofin community, went missing after leaving his home around 2:00 p.m. on June 12, 2024, to bathe in the river. The incident was reported by his father, Deputy Superintendent of Police Danjuma Shaibu, who is stationed at the Alausa Police Barracks in Lagos State.
Despite extensive efforts by family members and local divers, Francis’s body has not yet been recovered.
State police spokesperson Omolola Odutola informed our correspondent on Thursday that officers from the Ojodu-Abiodun division are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and are working to recover the body.
“Upon receiving the tragic news, detectives from the Ojodu-Abiodun division visited the scene and coordinated with local divers and the Olofin Council to search for the body,” Odutola said.
She added, “Efforts to locate the body are ongoing, and we are also working to uncover the details leading to this unfortunate incident.”
