Senator Ben Murray-Bruce Resigns from PDP, Joins APC

After many years of political engagement and deep reflection, I have taken the decision to leave the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and officially align myself with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

I’ve had the privilege of knowing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu since 1998. He is a man of unwavering determination, strategic foresight, and firm belief in results over rhetoric. His approach to leadership is not shaped by popularity, but by performance. And today, more than ever, I am convinced that he is steering Nigeria in the right direction.

For the first time in our democratic journey, we have a President who truly grasps the complexities of the economy—not as a political catchphrase, but as a dynamic system that must be opened up, disciplined, and allowed to thrive independently.

Yes, the current reforms are tough. But these difficult adjustments are laying the groundwork for sustainable economic revival. Nigeria is gradually shifting into a more liberalized economy—one that incentivizes innovation, rewards productivity, and reduces over-dependence on government handouts.

Look at the evidence: security architecture is being restructured with a competent National Security Adviser. Insecurity is no longer headline-driven chaos—it is being addressed with quiet, deliberate strategy. The Central Bank has regained professional credibility, working to stabilize the naira and restore investor confidence.

Our foreign policy is once again commanding global respect. The deregulation of the petroleum sector has brought an end to the days of fuel scarcity. Economic indicators are beginning to improve, and international investors are showing renewed interest in Nigeria’s potential.

Infrastructure development is also surging—new roads, upgraded airports, seaports, and housing projects are coming to life across the country. These are not just construction projects; they are the lifelines of economic renewal and national integration.

I understand the hardship many Nigerians are facing. Reform, by its nature, is never easy. But nations that rise from adversity do so through bold decisions, not hesitation.

My decision to join the APC is not about partisanship—it is about purpose. I believe in the direction President Tinubu is taking this nation. His combination of bravery and strategic thinking gives me hope that the Nigeria we dream of is within reach.

In the next eight years, if this momentum continues, I believe we will witness remarkable transformation. I stand with that vision. I stand with progress. I stand with the future.

May God bless our great nation, Nigeria.
