This initiative is part of Nigeria’s strategic plan for digital transformation and leadership in Africa.

The AI Expertise Blockchain and Technology Training and Outsourcing Initiative, in collaboration with tech company Gluwa, aims to annually train 1,000 Nigerians in advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain. The Vice President praised the partnership with Gluwa, noting its alignment with President Tinubu’s vision to transform Nigeria’s digital technology sector. He commended Gluwa’s impact, particularly its empowerment of Aella Microfinance Bank, which has facilitated the disbursement of over N100 billion to two million Nigerians.

Shettima further emphasized the global significance of the initiative, stating, “Our aspiration remains to transform Nigeria into a premier destination for technology outsourcing, creating a model that combines global expertise with local talent.”

Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, also highlighted the initiative’s importance, calling it a unique opportunity for the youth. Governor Namadi pointed out Jigawa’s longstanding commitment to ICT education, referencing the reputable Informatics Institute established over two decades ago.

This initiative aligns with both the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Jigawa State’s 12-Point Agenda, which prioritize digital technologies and innovation.

Earlier, Vice President Shettima launched the 4th edition of the Expanded National Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Clinic. He revealed that President Bola Tinubu has approved a grant of N150,000 for each business owner in the state as part of the federal government’s support for MSMEs across the country.
