Singer Portable: No Justification for Protests, Nigeria is Fine

Singer Portable

Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, has voiced his opinion on the planned nationwide protest, asserting that there is no need for such action despite the economic difficulties faced by citizens.

According to DAILY POST, various groups of Nigerians are organizing a nationwide protest set to occur between August 1 and 10, 2024, in response to the escalating cost of living under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.

In a recent Instagram story post on Thursday, Portable expressed his belief that protests are unnecessary, suggesting that those planning to participate are simply unemployed.

The singer warned against being asked to perform during the protest, attributing the initiative to laziness. He stated, “It won’t be well with anyone who tells me to perform during the protest. Don’t you have a producer too? You should also collect the mic and join the protest too.”

Portable continued, “I need money, I’m hustling. If you take your job seriously, you won’t join the protest. Don’t fight for Nigeria, fight for yourself. Nigeria is fine; you are the one who is not okay. There is money in some places, you are the one who did not hustle or are not loyal to your helper. You are the one who doesn’t make connections. There are people who can help, there are jobs. You are the one who is not working. Fight for yourself.”
