SIT-AT-HOME: Enugu Governor, Mbah Tells Finland Govt what to do to Simon Ekpa

Simon Ekpa
Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has strongly criticized Simon Ekpa, the Finland-based leader of the Autopilot group, accusing him of exploiting the emotions and suffering of the Igbo people for personal gain. Mbah urged residents of the Southeast to ignore Ekpa’s threats and sit-at-home directives.
Expressing frustration over Finland’s continued harboring of Ekpa, Mbah highlighted the destruction caused by Ekpa’s alleged followers. During a recent visit by the House of Representatives Committee on National Security and Intelligence to inspect the Department of State Service (DSS) Training Institute construction in Awgu, Mbah underscored the significance of security in his administration’s efforts to end the sit-at-home orders previously imposed by non-state actors.
Mbah criticized Ekpa for living peacefully in Finland while inciting chaos and exploiting Southeast youths for his benefit. “This is a business for him, pretending to fight for Igbo interests while knowing nothing about them. He thrives on creating a siege atmosphere to extort and exploit our people,” Mbah stated, labeling Ekpa a “common criminal.”
The governor reassured Enugu residents of their safety, emphasizing that the state would not be intimidated by criminals. “We have shown our ability to provide security and will continue to do so with the help of our security agencies. We will not submit to the siege atmosphere he wants to create,” Mbah declared.
Mbah also called on the Finnish government to reconsider its stance on Ekpa, suggesting that the House Committee on National Security and Intelligence intervene to facilitate Ekpa’s repatriation and prosecution.
Hon. Ahmed Satomi, Chairman of the House Committee on National Security and Intelligence, praised Mbah as a model for other states in terms of security and governance.
