Omoyele Sowore, the Nigerian activist, politician, and founder of Sahara Reporters, was recently involved in a heated altercation with Nigerian police officers along Airport Road.

A video of the incident shows several vehicles being halted by police, with Sowore’s car among those stopped. He engaged the officers, expressing frustration over the traffic congestion they were causing. Sowore criticized their actions, arguing that it was inappropriate to block the busy road.

In the footage, Sowore is heard saying, “We are not parking. You shouldn’t be causing traffic here. We’re not parking. Go and bring your boss. Calm down, please.”

Despite his protests, the officers insisted that he park his vehicle. Sowore, however, refused to comply, demanding that the officers clear the way.

After a brief standoff, one officer directed his colleagues to allow Sowore to pass. As he drove off, an officer muttered a curse, to which Sowore quickly responded, “God punish you too.”
