Tambuwal Declares: “I Won’t Join APC, I Don’t Need My Sins Pardoned”

Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has ruled out any possibility of defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating emphatically that he has no interest in seeking political absolution.
Speaking to a crowd of supporters in Sokoto following his return to the state, the former governor made it clear that his principles remain intact and that he would not compromise them by aligning with the ruling party.
> “I have no desire to have my so-called sins forgiven — and that’s why I will never join the APC,” Tambuwal said. “I cannot be bullied, I cannot be bought, and I will never allow anyone to smear my name.”
He further described Nigeria’s political divide as a clear choice between supporting President Bola Tinubu’s administration and standing with the Nigerian people—a choice he says he has already made.
> “This country is at a crossroads. You’re either with those in power or you’re with the people. I stand firmly with Nigerians.”
Tambuwal, who is part of the opposition coalition, made the remarks amid reports of a recent encounter with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), where he was questioned in connection with alleged misappropriation of ₦189 billion during his time in office.
Despite the investigation, the senator remains defiant, positioning himself as a voice of opposition and integrity in a deeply polarized political landscape.
