Thieves Raid Abandoned FMBN Estate in Abuja Suburb, Kill Security Guard

Early Friday morning, thieves broke into the abandoned Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) estate in Bwari, Abuja, resulting in the death of a security guard and the theft of valuable materials.
The intruders entered the unsecured premises, overpowering the guard who attempted to intervene. They stole windows and other construction materials from the site.
The FMBN estate, which has been neglected for years, is in a state of disrepair. Funded by the FMBN and the Federal Housing Authority, with Luxiar Construction Limited as the developer, the estate’s current condition has become a source of concern.
The incident has heightened fears among local residents about the security of the area, prompting calls for the FMBN and Federal Housing Authority to take immediate action to safeguard the estate and assess the future of the project. Although authorities have been alerted, no arrests have been reported yet.
