Tinubu Approves Posting of 65 Ambassadors to Key Global Missions

The appointments include 31 non-career envoys and 34 career diplomats, who will serve in various countries as well as at the United Nations. The nominees had earlier received confirmation from the Nigerian Senate in December.
Details of the postings were disclosed in a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy. According to him, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already received diplomatic clearance from some host countries for the designated envoys.
He explained that the United Kingdom has granted agrément for Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu to serve as Nigeria’s High Commissioner, while France has approved Ambassador Ayo Oke as Nigeria’s representative to the European nation.
The presidency also confirmed that nominations for the remaining envoys have been transmitted to their respective host countries for diplomatic consent in accordance with international protocol.
