Tinubu Postpones Trips to South Africa and Angola After Kebbi, Kwara Attacks

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has cancelled his planned trips to Johannesburg, South Africa, and Luanda, Angola, so he can receive full security reports on the kidnapping of schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the attack on worshippers at Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Isegun, in Eruku, Kwara State.
In a statement released by his aide, Dada Olusegun, the President ordered more security officers to be sent immediately to Eruku and the entire Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State. He also instructed the police to find and arrest the attackers.
Tinubu was supposed to leave Abuja today for the G20 Leaders’ Summit in South Africa and later attend the AU–EU Summit in Angola. But the recent security incidents made him pause his travel plans.
He is now waiting for updates from Vice President Kashim Shettima, who visited Kebbi on his behalf, as well as reports from the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services about the attack in Kwara.
The President again stressed that rescuing the 24 kidnapped schoolgirls is a top priority and that they must be brought home safely.
