Tinubu Sacks PTAD Chief Chioma Ejikeme, Appoints Tolu Odunaiya as Successor

President Bola Tinubu has dismissed Dr. Chioma Ejikeme from her position as Executive Secretary of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), just over a year after she was reappointed for another four-year term.

In a statement released on Monday by Olugbenga Ajayi, Head of PTAD’s Corporate Communications Unit, the President announced the appointment of Miss Tolulope Odunaiya as the new Executive Secretary. Odunaiya officially took over the role on November 18, 2024, at the PTAD headquarters.

Odunaiya replaces Ejikeme, who had been in charge of PTAD since August 2019 and was set to serve until 2024.

Tinubu had renewed Ejikeme’s tenure in October 2023, extending her mandate for another four years. However, after her first term ended in September 2023, Ejikeme temporarily handed over management of PTAD to Sulayman Shelleng, Director of the Civil Service Pension Department, before the reappointment.

Ejikeme originally took up the role during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
