Two Nigerian migrants have been detained in Libya for allegedly assaulting a fellow Nigerian and causing his death by throwing him off a building.

According to Migrant Rescue Watch (MRW), the suspects were apprehended in Brak, a town in the Wadi al Shatii District in west-central Libya, on Monday, July 15, 2024.

“Police in Brak have arrested two undocumented Nigerian migrants, identified as ‘J.H.’ (born 2002) and ‘A.M.’ (born 1994), who are responsible for assaulting another Nigerian migrant, ‘Z.M.’,” MRW reported on Tuesday.

The victim sustained severe injuries after being thrown from the roof of a building and, despite receiving medical attention, succumbed to his injuries.

The suspects have been handed over to the public prosecutor for legal proceedings.
