I Will Not Leave Office, Our Tenure Is Extended By State Lawmakers – Ikwerre LGA Chairman, Samuel Nwanosike shocked
The Ikwerre LGA chairman, Hon Dr. Samuel Nwanosike, has reaffirmed his readiness to remain in office comes June 17, said the state lawmakers under Rt. Hon. Martin Amaghule has extended their official as a result of the inability of the state government to conduct the LGA chairman election in Rivers State.

In his two-minute video, the chairman said that he would remain in office since the state lawmakers asked him to remain.
Said Ikwerre Local Government Area will wait for anyone who dared to come and evict them.
This comes days after a Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt, the state capital, ruled that the tenure extensions of the 23 local government chairmen in the state are null and void.

Hon. Dr. Samuel Nwanosike, chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, has expressed his determination to remain in office beyond June 17, citing an extension granted by state lawmakers under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Martin Amaghule. The extension was necessitated by the state government’s failure to conduct local government elections in Rivers State.
In a two-minute video, Nwanosike stated that he would continue to serve as chairman, as directed by the state lawmakers. He also warned that Ikwerre Local Government Area would stand firm against any attempts to remove him from office.
This statement follows a recent ruling by the Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt, which declared the tenure extensions of the state’s 23 local government chairmen to be null and void.
