Why I Will Keep Avoiding Governor Sanwo-Olu – Mr. Macaroni

Popular Nigerian comedian and activist, Mr. Macaroni, has shared the reason he will continue to distance himself from the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Macaroni made this known in a response to an X user, @OyesileJohn, who criticized him for ignoring the governor.
The user @OyesileJohn posted: “To d’ifa fun a certain Macarroni who, in an attempt to please the mob, snubbed the governor of Lagos state. Omo ase.”
This comment stirred significant debate on social media, with many supporters defending Macaroni for staying true to his principles.
In his reply, Macaroni, through a series of tweets, reiterated that he would not engage with Governor Sanwo-Olu.
“I will continue to ignore your Governor. He means nothing to me, and neither do you or your father. It’s amusing how you slaves bring up this issue often. Each time you do, I’ll remind you of your place.”
Explaining his stance, Macaroni emphasized that he could never associate with a government that had previously “stripped me naked, beaten, tortured, brutalized, and dehumanized me.” He also shared his experience in detention, where the police told him to “stop disturbing the governor.”
