Wike Fires Warning at APC National Secretary: Rivers Is a No-Go Area

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has issued a stern warning to the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ajibola Basiru, urging him not to take the support being given to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for granted.
Wike cautioned Basiru to exercise restraint in his public remarks, stressing that careless statements could have serious political consequences. He warned that Rivers State should not be treated lightly, insisting that anyone who oversteps political boundaries there would bear full responsibility for the outcome.
According to Wike, support for the President does not give anyone the license to provoke or undermine others. He declared that Rivers State remains politically solid and would not be intimidated, adding that he is prepared to confront anyone who attempts to turn the state into a battleground.
Wike’s comments underscore rising political tensions as party leaders trade words ahead of future electoral contests.
