Wurukum Market Suicide: How a Woman Survives Suicide Attempt with Palm Oil in Benue State

Earlier today 15th of May,at Wurukum Market in Makurdi, Benue State, a tragic incident was narrowly avoided thanks to the swift actions of a Good Samaritan. A woman reportedly consumed rat poison in what appeared to be a suicide attempt.

Eyewitnesses say the woman collapsed shortly after taking the substance. Fortunately, a passerby noticed what had happened and quickly sprang into action. The individual ran to get a bottle of palm oil — a common first aid response in such cases — and managed to get the woman to drink it.
Thanks to this quick intervention, the woman was stabilized and received further help.
The motive behind her actions remains unknown, but the community is praising the selfless act of the bystander who may have saved her life.
