Terrorists Attack Dakwa, Abuja; Kidnap Four and Injure Several Others

In the early hours of Sunday, suspected terrorists attacked Dakwa in the DeiDei area, a suburb along the Zuba-Suleja road in the Federal Capital Territory, between 12 and 1:30 am. The attack resulted in the abduction of four individuals and left many others injured.

According to an anonymous eyewitness, the assailants commenced their assault from Rufaida Yougout in Dakwa, advancing towards Buy filling station and Hasmos School.

The incursion led to an intense gunfight between the vigilantes and the attackers, ultimately leading to the kidnapping of four people. “As of 9 am this Sunday, there is a notable military presence and senior police officers in Dakwa, evaluating the night’s events,” the eyewitness stated. “Despite our efforts to alert the security forces, we were unable to prevent the abductions.”

Alice Jacob, a resident, described hearing heavy gunfire but was too scared to leave her house. She mentioned that the gunfight lasted for almost 30 minutes. Another resident, Bala Usman, corroborated the account and called on the government to improve security measures to safeguard the community.

Usman also encouraged residents to stay in contact with security authorities when needed.
