Tinubu’s First Year: FCT Security Improved —Nyesom Wike
Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), announced that security in the FCT has significantly improved, allowing residents to “sleep with both eyes closed.”
Speaking in Abuja on Thursday during the Ministerial Sectoral Update on President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s performance over the past year, Wike highlighted the administration’s efforts to bolster security.
Wike noted that the Tinubu-led government has provided security agencies with the necessary logistics and resources to perform their duties effectively.
He stated, “The required funds for their operations are now readily available. We have supplied logistics, vehicles, and other essential equipment to the security agencies.
“While we have not achieved 100% security—no society is entirely crime-free—there is a noticeable improvement. The current situation is markedly better than before.”
Wike affirmed the government’s commitment to reducing insecurity in the FCT, adding that plans are underway to construct three taxi and bus terminals to further enhance public safety and infrastructure.
