See the Hundreds Numbers of Egyptian Pilgrims Confirmed Dead in Saudi Arabia

Pilgrims
During the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, it has been confirmed that over 600 Egyptian pilgrims have died.
The tragic news has left friends and family desperately searching for missing loved ones. An Arab diplomat confirmed the death toll of at least 600 Egyptian pilgrims in the holy land during this year’s pilgrimage.
Initially, Arab officials reported 323 Egyptian deaths, but the numbers have since risen. The fatalities have been attributed to the extreme heat, which soared to 51.8 degrees Celsius (125 degrees Fahrenheit) on Monday, June 17.
The searing heat proved fatal even for pilgrims with official permits. One such case involves Houria Ahmad Abdallah Sharif, a 70-year-old Egyptian pilgrim who has been missing since Saturday. After praying on Mount Arafat, she informed a friend that she was heading to a public bathroom to clean her abaya but never returned.
“We’ve searched for her from door to door and have not found her,” said the friend, who wished to remain anonymous. They added, “Many are still searching for their family members and relatives. Unfortunately, some are discovering that their loved ones are among the deceased.”
