The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has apprehended the individuals responsible for the murder of retired Brigadier-General Uwem Udokwere. The incident took place at his home in the Sunshine Homes area of Lokogoma, Abuja.

According to reliable sources, the arrest was made by a team led by CSP Victor O. Godfrey, the Divisional Police Officer of Utako. The suspects were detained around 3 am on Saturday, following an investigation into the robbery and murder.

Earlier reports indicated that armed robbers had broken into the General’s residence, stealing his pistol and other belongings. New information now reveals that the suspects, all residing in the Apo area of the FCT, have admitted to the attack and murder.

A situation report obtained from a police source identified the suspects as Ibrahim Rabiu (33), Nafiu Jamil (33), Aliyu Abdullahi (47), and Mohammed Nuhu (28), all from Apo Primary School. The suspects have confessed to both the murder and armed robbery of the retired General.

“They admitted to killing the General during the robbery to prevent him from using his pistol against them. They also stole laptops, phones, and other valuables from his home. The knife used in the attack and the deceased’s black ‘Redmi’ phone were recovered,” the source disclosed.

Further investigations are ongoing as the FCT police work to recover the stolen pistols and apprehend additional suspects involved in the crime.
