See what Senate President said about the Allegations of Aircraft Purchase for President Tinubu and Shettima

Senate President, Akpabio
Senate President Godswill Akpabio has refuted allegations that the Senate proposed the purchase of new aircraft for President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima. In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Assistant on Print Media, Jackson Udom, Akpabio clarified his stance during a condolence visit to Senator Tahir Monguno, whose father recently passed away.
Akpabio stated that the reports attributing the claim to him were false and the work of propagandists and fifth columnists. He emphasized that the Senate’s primary focus is on passing legislation to support President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Expressing satisfaction with the current security situation in Borno state, Akpabio urged Nigerians to continue supporting the administration through prayers and patience. He specifically addressed the rumors, saying, “I want to dispel the rumor that the Senate President said he would buy a new plane for the President and his Vice, despite the fact that Nigerians are hungry. I never said that. I was actually in Zanzibar, Tanzania.”
Akpabio attributed the false reports to those who are critical of the government’s efforts. He encouraged Nigerians to remain patient and optimistic about the potential for prosperity under the leadership of Tinubu and Shettima. Additionally, he commended the improvement of security in Borno state, crediting President Tinubu’s hard work, and called on the people of Borno to continue supporting the administration.
