Senator Seriake Dickson, former Governor of Bayelsa State, has called on High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, known as Tompolo, to increase his efforts against crude oil theft and environmental degradation in the Niger Delta. Tompolo is the founder of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd, an oil pipeline surveillance company.
During a courtesy visit to Oporoza, the headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Delta State, Dickson highlighted the need for continued vigilance and action. He stated, “A lot still has to be done. I want to encourage him (Tompolo) now that I am here. I have seen the development myself. I want to encourage him to do more.”
Currently serving as the Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Dickson praised the traditional ruler of Gbaramatu Kingdom, His Majesty Oboro-Gbaraun II, Aketekpe, Agadagba, and the Ijaw people for maintaining peace and stability in the region. He also commended Tompolo and Tantita Security Services for their efforts in preventing vandalism of national assets and reducing illegal bunkering and environmental harm caused by illegal refineries.
Describing Gbaramatu Kingdom as a critical part of the Ijaw nation, Niger Delta, and Nigeria, Dickson acknowledged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the NNPCL management for their trust in Tantita Security Services. He called for the continuation of this partnership to enhance security and service delivery.
In response, His Majesty Oboro-Gbaraun II expressed gratitude for Dickson’s visit and urged him to maintain close ties with the Kingdom, given his status as an
Ijaw leader.
