Meet Pastor Who Refuses to Walk on “Sinful” Ground

Pastor
Pastor John Mwangi of the Revival Church in Githurai, Kenya, claims he cannot walk on “sinful” ground due to his perceived holiness. As a result, he insists that his congregation carry him until they can provide him with a 2023 Range Rover.
Mwangi asserts his close relationship with God, which, according to him, justifies his refusal to walk on ordinary ground. His followers carry him on a chair, reminiscent of how ancient kings were transported. This practice has sparked concern among observers, who question why Mwangi portrays himself as holier than Jesus, who never demanded such treatment from his disciples. Some interpret this behavior as a sign of the times, as foretold by prophets.
In addition to his role at Revival Church, John Mwangi serves as the national director for Kenya with Sozo Ministries. Alongside his wife Triza, he launched a church in Juja, Kenya, in February 2017, which now boasts over 50 adult members and numerous children. The support of donors allows Mwangi to continue his mission in East Africa, focusing on training leaders, evangelizing, and planting new churches.
