Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, celebrated his 34th birthday on July 16, 2024. A renowned Nigerian singer and songwriter, Wizkid has become a prominent figure in the global Afrobeats movement.

Born in the Ojuelegba suburb of Surulere, Lagos, Wizkid’s music career began at the tender age of 11 when he recorded a collaborative album with the Glorious Five, a group formed with friends from his church. His music style is an eclectic mix of Afrobeats, Afropop, R&B, reggae, dancehall, and pop, making him a versatile artist in the music industry.

In 2009, Wizkid’s career took a significant turn when he signed with Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E). He gained widespread recognition with the release of “Holla at Your Boy,” the lead single from his debut studio album, *Superstar* (2011). The album also featured hit singles such as “Tease Me/Bad Guys” and “Don’t Dull,” cementing his place in the music scene.

As Wizkid marks his 34th birthday, his influence on the Afrobeats genre and his contributions to the global music industry are celebrated by fans and fellow artists alike. His journey from a young boy in Ojuelegba to an international music sensation continues to inspire many aspiring musicians.
