Nneamaka Okafor Drives Female Adoption of Nigeria’s Digital Student Loan Platform

Abuja, Nigeria – On International Students’ Day 2024, Nneamaka Okafor was at the forefront of Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda, unveiling a new roadmap to help female students harness the NELFUND digital loan platform. Speaking at the National Female Students Association of Nigeria (NFSAN) Conference in Abuja, she delivered a practical, step-by-step session on navigating the platform, ensuring young women are not left behind in the nation’s transition to digital finance.

The NELFUND platform, Nigeria’s flagship digital loan system for students, has quickly become a critical tool for widening access to higher education. Under Nneamaka’s leadership and product-focused training initiatives, female adoption of the system has surged nationwide, with 73% more women successfully completing their applications compared to the previous months.

Her strategy extends far beyond training sessions. She has forged partnerships with major student bodies such as the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and NFSAN, as well as leading EdTech firms, to expand digital literacy and product access nationwide. This collaborative approach is creating a pipeline of female-led product innovation, enabling women to participate not just as consumers but also as future shapers of Nigeria’s digital economy.

Comrade Choice Enebeli, President of NFSAN, praised her role, stating: “Her contribution has transformed how female students view digital finance. She is helping us move from awareness to real adoption and success.”

Industry partners including Mr. Adejorin Tai Manuel (NANS), Jubril Idris (CEO, The Progressives Magazine), and Ego Philips (CEO, Dreams World) also collaborated with NFSAN to ensure the success of Nigerian female students.

By combining her technical expertise in Artificial Intelligence with business leadership in product scaling, Nneamaka Okafor is redefining how digital platforms can empower underserved groups. Her work with NELFUND demonstrates how targeted product innovation and adoption strategies can make financial inclusion a reality for millions of students across Nigeria.

With her efforts, female students are not only gaining access to essential financial tools but are also becoming early adopters of digital transformation products, positioning them as leaders in Nigeria’s emerging technology-driven economy.
