Ndume Sets Condition for Staying in APC

Senator Ndume

Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, has declared that his continued membership in the All Progressive Congress (APC) is contingent on Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, remaining in the party.

Speaking at his residence in Maiduguri on Thursday, Ndume addressed a group of women supporters who threatened to stage a peaceful protest at the National Assembly if he is removed as Chief Whip of the Senate.

“I will stay in the APC as long as Governor Zulum is in the party,” Ndume affirmed. “Despite calls from the APC National Working Committee (NWC) for me to leave, I am a founding member of this party, and our leader, Governor Zulum, remains in APC. Wherever our governor goes, I will follow.”

Addressing the supporters, Pastor Moni Mushari quoted John 8:31, saying, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” He emphasized their unwavering support for Ndume for “speaking the truth.”

Ndume was removed as Chief Whip after criticizing President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Additionally, he was stripped of his position as Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations.
