Bryan King has backed Everton to sign Jackson Tchatchoua from Hellas Verona.

The ex-Goodison scout believes the right-back would be a “positive” addition at Goodison Park.

As reported in the Itallian newspaper Corriere Di Verona (3 August, page 13), the Toffees have submitted a £6.8million offer plus two bonuses to Hellas Verona for Tchatchoua.

However, the Serie A side are holding out for at least £8.5million upfront.

And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – has backed Everton to bring Tchatchoua to the club.
“I would imagine Everton are looking for cover for Séamus Coleman,” King said.
“They will want a new option in that area of the pitch, and it will be good to have someone like Coleman who this player can learn from.

“Tchatchoua is a good age and could be a good option for the club. Everton have sold players and raised some decent money.

“Therefore, if the club can bring in a player for that kind of fee who could spend five to six years with them, that is of course positive.”

Everton to sign Jackson Tchatchoua from Hellas Verona?

Sean Dyche will be keen to add reinforcements wherever he can ahead of the 2024/25 campaign getting underway.

Bringing in a young right-back with international experience such as Tchatchoua would be a smart move for the club.

This is especially important considering the older profile of some of the club’s full-backs, such as Coleman and Ashley Young.

If they can strike a deal with Hellas Verona for less than £10million, that would be seen as another good bit of business, in what has been a largely positive transfer window despite the ongoing takeover saga.
