Abuja Women Protest: Women Chanted If You See Tinubu, Akpabio And Others Tell Them We Are Hungry

In Abuja, a large group of women gathered in front of the National Stadium, voicing their frustration over the severe economic hardships plaguing the country. Organized under the banner of Women Against Hunger, they called on President Bola Tinubu’s administration to address the widespread hunger caused by ineffective policies.

The protesters, who chanted in Pidgin English, urged anyone who encountered political figures like Tinubu, Akpabio, or Shettima to inform them about the dire situation. “If you see Tinubu, let him know we’re hungry. If you see Akpabio, tell him we’re here at the stadium suffering. If you see Shettima, let him know too,” they sang.

A particularly poignant moment occurred when a woman in her seventies joined the rally in Oyo State, expressing her discontent with the economic situation. In a video shared by SaharaReporters, she appealed for compassion from President Tinubu, emphasizing that the protests are peaceful and aimed at seeking relief.

Meanwhile, thousands in Oyo State participated in a one-million-man march on the tenth day of nationwide protests against poor governance. Protesters in Ibadan held signs denouncing corruption and shouting “Ole” (thief) to express their grievances.

In Abeokuta, Ogun State, numerous Nigerians and activists also joined the march, as captured in a video shared by human rights advocate Omoyele Sowore. The demonstrators chanted “Solidarity forever, we always fight for our rights” and carried placards demanding
