See New Date Omoyele Sowore Set for Hunger Protest to Recommence

The leaders of the nationwide hunger protests have declared that demonstrations will recommence on October 1.

According to POLITICS NIGERIA, protests occurred from August 1 to August 10 in response to the rising cost of living in Nigeria.

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate for the Action Alliance Congress (AAC) and a major organizer of the protests, shared this update during an interview with News Central TV.

He noted that current discussions among the organizers are centered on planning the next phase of the demonstrations.

“The protests are scheduled to resume at the start of October and could potentially begin earlier based on circumstances,” Sowore stated.

The organizers are calling for the reinstatement of fuel subsidies, an increase in the minimum wage to N250,000, the release of Nnamdi Kanu, and the introduction of a new constitution.

Despite President Bola Tinubu’s appeal for the protests to cease, the organizers have rejected his address as ineffective and remain committed to continuing their actions.
