Federal Government Announces Increase in Nigerian Passport Fees

PRESS RELEASE

The Federal Government has sanctioned an increase in the fees for Nigerian passports, effective September 1, 2024, to enhance the quality and integrity of the document.

Under the new fee structure, the cost for a 32-page passport booklet, previously set at ₦35,000 for a 5-year validity, will now be ₦50,000. Similarly, the fee for a 64-page passport booklet, valid for 10 years and previously priced at ₦70,000, will be raised to ₦100,000.

It is important to note that these fee adjustments do not apply to Nigerian passports issued abroad, where current rates remain unchanged.

The Nigeria Immigration Service expresses regret for any inconvenience this adjustment may cause and reaffirms its dedication to maintaining transparency and delivering high-quality services.
