Man Killed by Train in Lagos

An unidentified adult male was tragically killed by a train in the Mushin area of Lagos State on Monday. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. as the man was walking along the Cappa railway tracks.

According to a statement from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the victim was found dead at the scene with severe injuries from the collision. LASEMA spokesman Nosa Okunbor confirmed that the man died instantly due to the impact.

The statement noted, “Following a distress alert about the train accident near the LASEMA Response Base in Cappa at approximately 6 p.m., the Agency deployed its Eagle Response Team.”

“Upon arrival, the team found an adult male who had been struck by the train and was already deceased,” Okunbor continued. “Initial findings indicate that the man, who was found partially dressed, died immediately on the tracks.”

The deceased’s body has been secured by LASEMA’s response team and will be transferred to the morgue once officials from the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit arrive.
